Clinical Usage Instructions (IFU) — D-Files
-
Step 1: Preoperative radiograph to confirm the obturation status. Remove the coronal restoration.
-
Step 2: Use D1 (16mm) at 150–300 RPM with pecking motions to remove the coronal 1/3 of gutta-percha.
-
Step 3: Use D2 (18mm) to remove the middle 1/3 of gutta-percha.
-
Step 4: Use D3 (22mm) to remove the apical 1/3 of gutta-percha to WL.
-
Step 5: Confirm WL with a #10 K-file. Irrigate thoroughly (NaOCl + EDTA).
-
Step 6: Re-prepare the root canal (using a shaping system such as D-Shaper or Super Files III).
Note: Retreatment files are subject to high wear. It is recommended that D1, D2, and D3 be used as single-use instruments. If gutta-percha softening is desired, a solvent (chloroform / orange oil) can be used as an adjunct.
